At IGSM Finland we don’t want our guests to spend all their time sitting inside a seminar hall behind closed doors. Rather, we wish to combine our in depth lectures with an introduction to Helsinki Metropolitan Area and the local way of living. And to do that, we need transportation. For IGSM 2015, public transportation was the number one choice for travelling. In Aalto University, most people use public transportation, and for a good reason. Together with our Platinum partner, Helsinki Region Transport (HSL), we want to show you that Helsinki region has one of the best public transportation providers and developers in Europe.
As the world is becoming increasingly urbanised, public transportation is quickly becoming the key to a successful metropolitan area. Because many of us has a chance to improve public transportation through our fresh ideas and established knowledge, we wish to introduce our public transportation system in a bit more detail. We are especially excited about new, intelligent services offered by HSL. And a big part of the public transportation relies on something that???s close to our hearts; geoinformation based advanced applications that enhance the travel experience and make travelling smooth.
